DESCRIPTION:Yankton\, SD Celebrates America's 250 is proud to sponsor an afternoon of touring Yankton's Museums and allowing entry to all at no charge.\n\nFirst\, please come to the Mead Museum's Feed Your Mind event at Noon on July 3. Mike Gurney will be presenting on the Gurney family history in Yankton. There will be free sandwiches and drinks for those who attend.\n\nThen\, starting at 1:00pm\, the free entrance into the following museums begins (and ends at 5:00pm):\n\n1) Tour the entire Mead Museum\, 82 Mickelson Drive.\n\n2) Check out the Yankton Fire Department's Museum\, located at 201 West 23rd Street\, as you head south into town. Say hello to Fire Chief Tim and Asst. Fire Chief Dan...and maybe others!!!\n\n3) As you make your way south\, please stop and tour the KYNT Studio and enjoy all the old radios and old radio broadcasting equipment they have on display\, 1019 Broadway Ave.\n\n4) Meander to the east\, 508 Cedar Street\, and stop to check out the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church. It was built by free slaves in 1885. It will be set-up like a Sunday morning service from the 1880's. Also there will be a large display of Ted Blakey documents.\n\n5) Continue your journey to the east and visit the Cramer-Kenyon Heritage Home at 509 Pine. It will be decorated inside and out for a Fourth of July in 1891. There are new displays to be seen inside the home this summer. It will be open from the main floor to the attic. Heritage Home volunteers will be dressed in period clothing and will be knowledgeable about the home and the grounds.\n\n6) The last stop on the tour of museums is on the east side of Yankton at the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) building\, 800 Archery Lane.
