Description
Energy flows where intention goes.
By slowing down, we give ourselves the opportunity to bring our attention to awareness.
Being aware of awareness helps us be intentional with our focus, and that focus can then
inform and direct our actions. It’s how me mindfully make a positive change.
I love offering a Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra for the New Year! I’ve found them to be such great
“tools” for aligning our intentional focus with our actions for the upcoming year. I think of them
as resolution setting that’s sustainable and nourishing to the soul.

I love offering a Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra for the New Year! I’ve found them to be such great
“tools” for aligning our intentional focus with our actions for the upcoming year. I think of them
as resolution setting that’s sustainable and nourishing to the soul.
So, I hope you join me for a 90 minute class I’ve designed to assist your
transition into the New Year in a way that feels supportive and in alignment with what holds
value for you.
Class will begin with a Yin Yoga practice that will help soften and sooth tension, moving
stagnant energy as we gently work our way through the chakra system. And we’ll end with the
deeply restorative practice of Yoga Nidra which is sometimes called “Yogic Sleep”.
Here’s what you can expect:
Our Yin Yoga practice will target the deeper tissues of the body as well as stimulate the
movement of energy throughout. We accomplish this by settling into each pose for a length of
time (usually 3-5 min.), allowing the weight of your body to take you deeper into the pose. By
targeting these deeper tissues, we can begin to let go of chronic tension and stagnant energy.
We’ll be working with seated and lying poses so wear something that’s comfortable and easy to
move in. We have props to assist your practice at the studio, but if you prefer to bring your own
please do.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation which deeply relaxes the body and mind on both a conscious
and subconscious level. Using a systematic approach specifically designed to work through all
layers of our energetic body called Koshas. Finding relaxation not only on the physical level, but
also on the energetic, mental/emotional, and intuitive levels as well, allowing you an
opportunity to rest in deep relaxation and understanding. This practice is powerful because we
work with an intention (or sankalpa) that’s recalled during our deepest state of relaxation. It
allows you to plant the seed of positive change in the fertile soil of your subconscious mind. I’ve
personally experience profound changes using this method and I suppose that’s why I feel so
strongly about it! Yoga Nidra can be done lying down or in a comfortable seated position. Feel
free to bring your favorite blanket, pillow, eye covering or anything else that would assist your
complete relaxation.
Both practices are all levels, and no prior experience is necessary. Come as you are with an open
mind and an open heart.
