Our community and our state continue to experience the loss of our family and friends to suicide. Sadly, suicide is currently the second leading cause of death among young adults ages 15 - 24 nationally and also the second leading cause of death for that age group in South Dakota. We can all Step Forward to make a difference. There is help and hope by raising awareness about suicide and funding prevention programs. 100% of all Step Forward to Prevent Suicide proceeds stays local to provide the services from Bridging Yankton and the Helpline Center and stays in South Dakota for our families, friends and neighbors.
Thank you for Stepping Forward by registering or donating today! Even if you are unable to attend the event you can still support the Step Forward to Prevent Suicide by creating a personal fundraising page and participating as a Virtual Participant allowing you to also help spread the word about the importance of suicide prevention services and programs.
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, the Helpline Center's trained staff is available through our crisis line at 1-800-273-8255 all day, every day.
