JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Complies with all state laws, administrative rules, and district policies that affect special education.
- Provides direct and supportive services to district students certified for special education and special education and related services.
- Completes diagnostic evaluations and interprets results on children in need of evaluation for special education and special education and related services.
- Develops individual education plans for students certified in special education.
- Provides goal-based remediation in individual and/or group sessions.
- Conducts periodic re-assessment of student progress in achieving instructor goals and objectives in accordance with individual education plans.
- Counsels and instructs parents in understanding and supporting individual education plan activities.
- Attends case study in his or her assigned buildings.
- Participates in the placement committee process.
- Conducts parent conferences.
- Maintains special education records.
- Performs other such duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or Director of Student Services.
