Connecting Cultures - Yankton is pleased to introduce Erica Aguilar as the organization's new Outreach Coordinator. Erica is leading a new community assessment project which is funded by a Lutheran Social Services grant administered through South Dakota Voices for Peace. Erica lives with her family in Yankton and has experience managing a daycare, planning events, and providing translation support. This timely project is possible thanks to a partnership with Yankton Thrive.
Over the next few months, Erica will be conducting community assessments via surveys and focus groups to identify available resources or gaps, connect partnerships, create a plan to enhance community navigation, and facilitate connections for newcomers and long-term residents. The first two surveys are available to complete online in both English & Spanish versions:
