Everyone likes to hoop it up once in a while - whether playing competitively in a league or just playing a pickup game with some friends.

Yankton offers a wealth of baskeball courts throughout the community. The Summit Activities Center, all the schools have gyms, Mount Marty University and Yankton City Hall.

Nearly every outdoor park in Yankton also has outdoor courts readily available. Fantle Memorial Park has a court with two hoops. Other popular outdoor courts are located at Pierson Ranch (by Lewis and Clark Lake), Westside Park, Augusta, Ridgeway and Fox Run. The City of Yankton runs the adult recreational leagues. Yankton Basketball Inc. is the association for the youth club basketball activities.

Yankton High School and Mount Marty University also have basketball programs so there are plenty to attend during the winter season. The Yankton High School boys just won the State AA Championship in 2023.
