About Us
After forming in 2000, the Yankton Area Ice Association worked with many entities in the community to bring an indoor ice rink to Yankton. Through several donations from regional hockey associations and generous monetary gifts from local businesses and individuals, the Kiwanis 4-H Youth Activities Center and Alcoa Arena opened in 2005. Because Yankton usually has somewhat mild winters, the indoor arena was necessary to provide enough ice time for all who wanted it.
The arena is home to all Yankton hockey teams, figure skating and the Yankton Curling Club.
There is also a small outdoor rink located at Sertoma Park.
