Live Music: Yuya Mix - Japanese Music

Yankton Community Library welcomes Yuya Mix on Friday, July 24 at 2:00 pm. He will perform popular Japanese music from the world of anime, covers of English tunes, and contemporary songs of today. Join us as we listen and discuss Japanese music, the cultural significance of the songs as well as the lyrics and meanings of each selection. This event, sponsored by Connecting Cultures, celebrates the diversity and emotional depth of Japanese music in all its forms.

 

A one-man band, Yuya Mix is a modern folk singer/songwriter from Minnesota. His set includes a guitar and ukulele, keeping in time with his suitcase-drum and tambourine, and often mixes in either harmonica or kazoo. Many of his inspirations for his originals come from small town life, as well as his Japanese-American upbringing in the Midwest.
