Description
If you’ve ever wanted to learn some magic tricks you can try at home, the Yankton Community Library has the perfect opportunity for you! Magician, Jonathan May, will be stopping by the library (515 Walnut St) on Monday, June 30 at 4 p.m. for a workshop that will teach youth simple yet amazing magic tricks with common items that can be found around the house. While this program is free, open to youth in kindergarten through 5th grade. Registration is required. Participants can register at https://tinyurl.com/yclmagic Parents are encouraged to stay and help kids learn the tricks but we will also have teen volunteers available.
Supplies to bring to the workshop include: deck of cards, coin (quarter, nickel, etc.), unsharpened pencil, handkerchief or bandana, a small box (or a handful) of crayons, and a short string (12 inches or so; cooking or ‘butcher’ string, or yarn will also work). We will have some extras of these items available at the library if you do not have one of the items listed.
Following the workshop at 6 pm folks of all ages are invited to Jonathan May’s Magic Show! You’re never too old or too young to enjoy a good magic trick.
