Yankton Curling Club & The Boat House Presents: THE 2nd ANNUAL HOUSE GAMES FUNDRAISER

A 4-person team Olympic event to help grow the local curling club. Funds raised will help Yankton Curling Club invest in more equipment to serve more people in the community.

Teams of 4 will rotate between:

• 3 mini ends of curling* (no experience nessesary) 
• 3 games of axe throwing
• 2 rounds of crokinole
• 1 game of bowling

(*For those familiar with curling, teams will be throwing 1 stone vs the traditional 2 stones.)

Other side games, raffle prizes and fun to be had! 

Closing ceremonies and prizes awarded at 4:30 at The Boat House.

$100/team.

Frequently asked questions:

1. What are the COVID protocols? 

a. Most games are designed to allow social distancing amongst other teams. Masks are encouraged, but not required. The equipment will be sanitized between games.

b. The Boathouse and Ice Rink have large enough areas to keep socially distancing possible. We will have designated tables per team with hand sanitizer readily available. Each team will participate in axe throwing and curling with ample space between one another. Equipment will be wiped down between games as well. Masks will be encouraged and will be available if you do not have your own.

2. What will this fundraiser help with? 

a. As a new club in town, we are trying to grow and give the community a new fun activity to participate in. We currently only have enough curling stones for two sheets (lanes) of curling. This only allows us to have 4 teams on the ice at a time. Currently our events/leagues fill up quickly due to our limited equipment. We are trying to raise enough money for another set of stones to accommodate 6 or 8 teams on the ice at a time. By doubling the capacity for teams, this allow us to grow as a club. YCC received our 501C3 status at the end of 2020 and we are hoping to host events for schools and other community organizations.

3. What is all included in the event? 

a. There will be 3 mini ends (throwing all the stones down the ice to one side) of curling. We will be using half the amount of stones per end. This is more of a sampling of curling than a full game

b. 3 games of axe throwing

c. 2 games of crokinole, the fun new game in town (volunteers will assist)

d. 1 quick game of mini bowling

e. Prize for the winning team

f. There will also be side games that are available for individuals or teams to participate in which will also help our fundraiser. These are not included with the ticket.

4. How can I sign up a team?

a. Online via Yankton Curling Club ‘Events’ tab or in person at The Boat House.

If you are not able to attend the event and would like to help our fundraiser, we will also be selling raffle tickets prior to the event. If you or someone you know would like to donate prizes, please contact us.
