POSITION/TITLE: Maintenance Technician
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
SCHEDULE: Full-Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Keep plant production and operations at a desired level through a program of preventive maintenance for machinery, equipment and buildings, and to make repairs as necessary. Maintain and establish the proper tracking/documentation of tools, PM equipment, and basic supplies for ensuring continual plant operation. Ensure building safety, efficiency and security is being performed.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
1.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities including, but not limited to production, safety equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC and troubleshooting.
2.
Ensure that all electrical work performed is completed by following all local and national electrical codes.
3.
Manage maintenance spending in relation to changes in production volume.
4.
Responsible for making repairs to plant machinery and equipment promptly when breakdown occurs.
5.
Keep shop, boiler room, compressor rooms and work area clean and safe. Including low traffic areas along walls.
6.
Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment while coordinating around Production.
7.
Document all required check lists for PMs and Repairs to meet GPP structured guidelines.
8.
Direct supervision of work performed by vendors and contractors.
9.
Assist in implementing manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports GPP initiatives.
10.
Ensures building security, safety and integrity.
11.
Assists in updating, documenting and maintaining the employee tool check out program.
12.
Tracks and maintains a min/max inventory for parts needed for plant operation.
13.
Improve overall plant performance through training, improved procedures and development of proactive environment.
14.
Promote effective working relationships with other departments helping establish open, efficient and pro-active communication links to all internal and external customers.
15.
Must be able to travel to trade shows and attend customer meetings.
16.
Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas of GPP.
17.
Work with Production Manager to improve safety by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Take immediate action on all Safety Alerts!
18.
Maintain individual skills keeping up to date with latest production and production management concepts.
19.
Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
•
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) along with basic mechanical skills.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Understanding of PLC functions, troubleshooting, considered a plus. Siemens, Allen Bradley.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•
Able to lift 60 pounds.
•
Able to work safely in a hot, humid and dusty environment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
•
Maintains required licenses to operate all equipment.
•
Must minimally have or work to acquire a 2B Boiler license within 3 years.
