Manufacturing Assembler

General Accountability:

This position will safely perform assembly and/or assembly repair operations for articulating loaders, track loaders and tele-handlers manufacturing in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibility:

  • Maintain a safe work environment

  • Work without close supervisor

  • Maintains a clean work area

  • Details are dependent on duties assigned in general consistent of the following:

    • Assemblers must make rate in a certain amount worked

    • Disassembles and/or repairs assemblies

    • Works from assembly print and specifications

    • Performs own setups and/or works from part prints and/or job specification

    • Checks results for conformance to print and/or specifications and makes necessary correction

    • May record data and/or cleans equipment and tooling

    • Instructs and assists other team members

    • Moves and positions units/loads

    • Cleans work area and performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.

  • Varies by specific duties.  Includes but not limited to:

    • Hand or power tools, testing and runoff equipment, gauges

    • Grinders, riveters, arbor presses

    • Hoists

    • Hand and power trucks

    • Dynamometers, tachometers

    • Runoff machines

    • Prints fixtures

    • Jigs

    • Templates

    • Clamps

    • And various other hand tools

  • Adheres to all safety policies and procedures; perform tasks in a safe manner

  • In the event of an accident or injury immediately, notify the Shift supervisor on duty.

  • Contact Maintenance Department to get equipment repaired when necessary.

  • Ability and willingness to take on additional assignments as requested by management.

  • Use tools, equipment and technology, computers or automated systems. 

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 

  • Check results for conformance to print and / or specifications and make necessary corrections.

  • Work with coworkers in a polite and courteous manner, providing cross training as needed.

  • Able to work overtime as required.

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Minimum education:  High school diploma or GED.

Skills and Competencies/Requirements:

    Must be able to read and interpret drawings, standard work instructions, checklists, internal and external deviations, etc.

    Computer skills:  knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite is preferred.

    Strong analytical and reasoning skills

    Must be a self-starter, team player and have the ability to multitask.

    Able and willing to work in other areas as needed.  Suggest and implement improvements.  Follow up on details.  Seek out productive work when assignments are completed.  Actively participate in continuous improvement for our products and process to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability.

Equipment:  tools, safety shoes, safety glasses/goggles, gloves and other PPE as needed.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, standing for extended periods, lifting multiple pounds regularly, use wrist motion, reach above/below shoulders, step up/down, bend/stoop, twist, squat/crouch, kneel or crawl.

Essential Skills:  Perform work standing on a concrete a minimum of 8 hours up to 10 hours per day.  Reading, writing, oral communication, working with others, problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, job task planning and organizing, significant use of memory, finding information, computer use, and continuous learning.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
