In this role, the Combination Technician will be pivotal in conducting the installation, maintenance, and support of customer voice, video and data connection products. Specific responsibilities include all installations of telecommunication products for new subscribers; staying on top of any repairs and maintenance to network wiring or equipment, using test equipment to solve any root cause issues; installing wires and cables in a construction environment; and performing advanced installations of VoIP, hosted phone, WI-FI, and surveillance systems. In addition, the Combination Technician will collaborate with internal departments and members regarding system work projects and assist construction personnel as needed.
Qualifications include a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with the installation and maintenance of outside plant and central office equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent education, plus two (2) years of telecommunications or broadband schooling, or a combination of both is required. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication skills, and a customer-first mindset to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Exceptional technology skills are necessary – specifically networking knowledge, technical software, security awareness, and customer support software.
Starting compensation range, DOE, $24.05-27.84/hr
