BSA Compliance Analyst - Yankton 
 
First Dakota National Bank is looking for a full-time BSA Compliance Analyst to join our Yankton team. This person will assist with the administration, planning, and management of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) activities in a manner that will contribute to the short and long-term goals of the Bank, Executive Management, and Board of Directors. This will be accomplished by creating an atmosphere enabling all employees to meet the BSA program objectives. The position is accountable to the Senior Compliance & BSA Officer, SVP Compliance & Deposits, CEO, and Board of Directors. Hours include Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
 
Duties
  • Assist with the administration of the Bank's compliance management system (CMS) to ensure practical institutional commitment to compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, rulings, and guidelines governing the Bank's operations. 
  • Expertise in BSA and OFAC laws, guidance, and best practice requirements.
  • Annually assist in the review and update of written policies and procedures managed by the Senior Compliance & BSA Officer.
  • Complete compliance monitoring reviews or reports at designated intervals to evaluate compliance with applicable laws and regulations and adequacy of internal controls designed to prevent and detect violations of laws and regulations; conduct ad hoc reviews as needed.
    • Completion of enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews. 
    • Process Currency Transaction (CTR) and Suspicious Activity (SAR) regulatory reports. 
    • Monitor risk reports from Verafin. 
  • Document review scope, findings, and observations in a written report that will be used to inform the Compliance Committee and Board of Directors.
    • Work with department management and SVP Compliance to ensure the identified deficiency resolution. 
  • Prepare and maintain a record of all work papers completed for each assigned compliance review. 
  • Identify business unit process deficiencies or gaps that may result in compliance risk to the organization, maintain documentation, and report the issues to the Senior Compliance & BSA Officer.
  • Consult with and advise operating units and managers of compliance deficiencies with BSA, so they can be part of the solution to improve personnel performance.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and hot topic issues for Bank Secrecy Act to identify unmet needs and offer solutions for change to current processes.  
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, law enforcement, and/or operating departments to ensure adherence to laws and regulations relating to new or revised product and service offerings. 
  • Oversight of the BSA enhanced due diligence software including validation of data input and initiating support calls to resolve software problems.
  • Coordinate audit request materials for internal and external examinations.
  • Communicate effectively through written and oral communication skills and coordinate necessary bank-wide communication to ensure compliance activities are conducted in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
 
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university and two to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
