Deposit Services Specialist

This position supports the bank's internal and external customer service needs with deposit account operations. Duties include working with ACH and wire transfers, check processing, resolving unposted and chargeback transactions, and reviewing reports for anomalies and accuracy. Experience is helpful, but we are willing to train. This position is located in Yankton, SD. Full-time hours include Monday-Friday 8-5.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Possess a working knowledge of Core Banking Application
  • Provide support to internal and external customer using the following deposit products: Digital Banking, Bill Pay, e-statements, online applications, Mobile Deposit, and other eBanking products as deemed appropriate
  • Assist with daily Deposit Services operations duties including: Working Check21 returns, processing incoming Large item notices, review of returned statements, Bill Pay and Digital Banking processes, ATM/Checkcard maintenance and balancing, Digital Account opening funding, working stop watch holds, unposteds and NSF items, deposit related maintenance and customer service calls
    Complete item processing duties including inclearings, RDC/RDA, Adjustments and returns
  • Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary
  • Ensure customer confidentiality
  • Shared responsibility for internal customer call volume; however will also assist with inbound external customer call volume as needed
  • Act in accordance with First Dakota’s Phone Standards and Digital Conversation Standards to provide exceptional customer service with every interaction
  • Research and resolve customer issues, acting as the customer liaison between departments when necessary
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regarding appropriate resolution of customer complaints
  • Demonstrate effective decision making in determining corrections, fee waivers, and refunds through appropriate methods/solutions in order to meet customer’s needs
  • Inform management of irregular or recurring issues and suggest improvements
  • Attend and come prepared to all meetings and developmental training as necessary
  • Attendance – consistently at work and on time
  • Other duties as assigned.
