Prince Manufacturing Corporation is a U.S. manufacturer of hydraulic components specializing in cylinders, mobile valves and gear pumps.  The Yankton, SD location is currently looking for full-time welder to work in a diverse manufacturing atmosphere in our welding department.  No experience?  Don’t sweat it.  We’ll teach you the positional skills you need to be successful regardless of your experience level. 

  • Starting wage: From $21.00 - $33.00/hour
  • Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 3:30pm or Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm
  • No weekends or holidays

SUMMARY - Welds metal components with Robotic gas welding equipment as specified by blueprint and work order by performing the following duties.

Duties/responsibilities:

  • Checks blueprint against order to make sure that it is up to the current revision level.
  • Looks over components being used to make sure they correspond to blueprints.
  • Positions components in fixtures.
  • Based on past experience and training, programs welder to weld components per blueprint.
  • Blocks through program to make sure set-up and program looks good.
  • Checks quality of tack weld and conformance of part to print.
  • Welds one part on auto cycle and examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Makes changes to program or set-up as needed to meet specifications.
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, and spatter.
  • Changes wire as needed.
  • Updates database with new program numbers and information vital to the set-up. (Lead Person only)
  • Reworks leakers found in the testing process. (Authorized only)
  • Performs routine maintenance on robots and fixtures.
  • Records quantity on identification tags.
  • Sweeps, scrubs and wipes down equipment and floors in work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and hazardous chemicals.  
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

Orientation and Safety Training

Must complete ISO Orientation for New Employees and Safety Training

Qualifications include:

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to stand for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen 
  • Must complete ISO Orientation for New Employees and Safety Training
